We have over 25 years experience in the financial marketplace. Our clients include private individuals, business owners and corporate bodies, our independent status allows us to provide recommendations from the whole of the market. Our overriding target is to understand your needs and provide knowledge and advice for you to achieve your personal objectives and financial peace of mind.

We help our clients achieve the best results from their financial planning, by providing first-rate advice in the areas of investments, retirement benefit advice including pensions, wealth management, protection insurance and Inheritance Tax planning.

Steve Speed

IFA & Employee Benefit Consultant

 

Steve really enjoys working as an IFA and Employee Benefit Consultant, it’s rewarding work over the long term.  He feels privileged to work with his clients as they experience good times, graduations of children, weddings and retirement etc. but also through tougher times of ill health and loss.  Although these are very sad times sometimes, we can see our advice helping families, you can help take some of the worry away.  That really helps a family in a time of need when they can feel rudderless.

Steve is fully engaged as an IFA and quite happy to work hard for his clients.  If he’s not with his clients or working on advice Steve’s time is spent researching markets, investments and technical updates.  This keeps him busy and happy, he must be well informed.  It’s the only way he can advise.

Advising has been his life for a long time now and he’d like to carry on advising (subject to health) for another decade or two.  Having said that we are building a business, an IFA practice, that offers strength in depth.  Some of the team are keen to start advising and one of them would like to return to advising too.  We are gradually recruiting to build our team as well and on the lookout for good quality people.

Steve believes in hard work and will lead from the front on this, but he also believes in playing hard too and enjoy both footy (think centre back) and tennis and family, socialising – having the odd pint.

 

 

Jason Norton   

Operations Manager            

 

Jason has worked in the Financial Services sector for over two decades.  Initially as an Independent Financial Adviser and latterly as an Independent Financial Compliance Consultant.  Jason has worked on numerous financial compliance projects for the big 4 Banks, IFA Networks and other prestigious Financial Services Companies.

As the Operations Manager for People and Business IFA Ltd, Jason gets to apply the experience gained over the years to help the company evolve and transition into its next stage of expansion. It’s an exciting time as the firm looks to further develop the team, profitability, grow Adviser numbers internally and recruit more committed individuals to the expanding business.

Away from work, Jason enjoys time with his partner and family, enjoying travelling and exploring the world. Jason enjoys Rugby League (Wigan Warriors), investing in the stock markets and reading authors like Lee Childs and Tim Weaver.

 

 

Carl Mitchell DipPFS

Paraplanner


Carl has worked in the financial services industry for over 11 years, with the last six years spent in a Paraplanning role, providing technical and administrative support to Advisers. Carl joined People and Business IFA Limited in July 2016 and holds the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated financial advice and is continuing his studies, striving to achieve Chartered Status.

With his experience and ongoing training Carl is currently training to be an IFA.

Carl is an Everton fan and enjoys spending time with his wife, Emma and his family. Carl also enjoys socialising with his friends and playing snooker.

 

 

Andrew Lloyd

Operations Administrator 

 

Andrew has over 8 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Joining People and Business in September 2018, he provides administrative support to the firm. Andrew is currently working towards his Level 4 Diploma.

In his former role Andrew worked in compliance. This is useful as he likes to keep up to date and practice his compliance skills on us!

Andrew is a keen traveller and usually plans his holidays with his partner around enjoying the local cuisines and wines. In his spare time, he enjoys chasing after his 2 Bengal Cats, swimming and doing Yoga.

 

 

Danielle Johnston

Operations Administrator

 

Danielle has worked in the Financial Industry for 3 years and became a Financial Planning administrator at People and Business in August 2018. Danielle’s role is to provide support the Adviser whilst training to become a Paraplanner.

In terms of experience Danielle has worked on protection underwriting and research and also gets involved in group risk and client servicing.

Danielle enjoys spending time with her 2 children Callum and Mia. She also enjoys socialising with friends and family and keeping fit in the gym in her spare time.

 

 

 

Charlotte Ennis

Operations Administrator

 

Charlotte has worked in the financial services industry for over 7 years.  Charlotte started at her last firm as a Receptionist, from here she progressed to New Business Administrator to eventually the Team Leader. Charlotte joined People and Business in May 2019 as an Operations Administrator providing administration support to the Adviser and the Operations Manager.

Charlotte is picking up new skills and is keen to progress. Her focus is on existing client servicing and Charlotte will be working on new business administration, Sage inputting and report writing in the future.

Outside of work Charlotte enjoys shopping, socialising and eating out.
